Roma

Our Street
Buongiorno!

Well after a series of delayed flights and 50 hours travel, we arrived in Rome at midnight of the 29th!

The taxi driver didn't know where we were going and drove us around for about half an hour - but offered us a five euro discount off the set price for the taxi to the city.

It is NOT true that everyone here speaks english, so thank god for my italian lessons. Some people do, and some speak only very little...we are managing!

Everything here is different, even the locks on doors.

Roma - OMG - what can you say. It is SO old and SO beautiful. The whole city seems like such a monument that there hardly seems much point going to museums.

The light and the sun are soft, so you can stroll around pretty much all day and only need to apply a tiny bit of sunblock once at middayish....and the food is amazing! We have taken photos of pastry shop windows, pizza and crepes everywhere...YUM.

Yesterday we hired bikes and that was FANTASTICO! Biked around old Rome, ancient Rome (yes, they are 2 different things) all day (so we're burning off the calories). Heaps of photos but will just put those up later when we have better internet access.

Will write more later also, as just in internet cafe now.

Ciao
Lots of love xx

Congratulations on finally making it to your destination in one piece! Lovely photo of you both. So...do the pizzas beat Hell's?? :)
